Questions and Answers

Gary Crossland answers your questions about Israel tour travel.

"How does the price of this tour compare to other 10-day tours?"

"An Octagon Tour is priced right about in the middle with other Holy Land tours.  It is more expensive than some, and less expensive than others.  But consider this - for most people, going to the Holy Land is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so you don't want this to be just about the price.  If you're going to do this once, you want to do it right.  The old saying is true - you get what you pay for.  We don't want you to be disappointed in the quality of your guide, and we certainly don't want you to miss the sites that you really came to Israel to see."

"Is Israel safe?"

"Yes.  Israel is like my second home.  Don't be misled by the media.  It is one of the safest countries in the world to visit.  What's more, the safest place in Israel at any given moment is on a tour bus.  Since the beginning of the State of Israel in 1948, there has never been one injury to any group tourist as a result of a terrorist attack.  In fact, groups are traveling to Israel every day by the droves from all over the world.  This is why I feel safe taking both my children and grandchildren there. Even the Temple Mount is safe, and our groups are respected by all of the guards and locals.  If you've been following the news, lone-wolf terrorists only target Jews.  In contrast, the Palestinians appreciate Christian tourists, because they bring money.  The bottom line is that protecting our travelers is very high on our list, and we wouldn't do anything that would compromise this principle."

"How large are your groups?"

"We keep our groups small enough to fit into one bus.  Any larger, and they become hard to manage.  When a group gets large enough we always provide headphones for each of our tourists, so that my voice can be heard, no matter how far away you are."
